В Сибири были обнаружены неизвестная популяция бабочек-вампиров. Бабочки напоминают широко распространенных в Европе совок Calyptra thalictri, питающихся соком плодов. Кровопийцы имеют лишь небольшие отличия в рисунке крыльев. Интересно, что пьют кровь только самцы бабочек, самки питаются плодами деревьев. Энтомологи считают, что популяция бабочек-вампиров – наглядный пример эволюции, однако чтобы выяснить их происхождение исследователи планируют провести анализ ДНК кровососов.	A [previously] unknown population of vampire moths has been discovered in Siberia. The moths resemble Calyptra thalictri, noctuids that feed upon fruit juice and are widely disseminated in Europe. The bloodsuckers have only small differences in the shape of their wings. Of interest is the fact that only the male moths drink blood. The females eat the fruit of trees. Entymologists consider the vampire moth population to be a striking example of evolution, although they plan on conducting an analysis of the bloodsuckers' DNA to clarify their origins.
